This book was created from transcripts of Dr. Heiser's Naked Bible Podcast series on Leviticus. I rarely paid attention to Leviticus in the past. Isn't the Law already fulfilled? Isn't it just a foreshadowing of Jesus sacrifice in the gospels? Turns out I didn't have the whole picture. Leviticus is rich in references to the other cultures of the Ancient Near East, and Dr. Heiser draws these out throughout each section of Leviticus. I have been pleasantly surprised to find so many interesting new insights by trying to understand the Bible from the perspective of an Israelite living in the time of Moses, David, or even the intertestamental period leading up to the time of Jesus. My only knock is the number of grammatical errors, but they are insignificant compared with the usefulness of the content.Product details

I understand Leviticus 100x better than I did which is not that big a deal when you consider that I did not understand it very well to begin with. This book has been a game changer for me. It has helped me understand God so much deeper and has enhanced my relationship with Him.
Michael Heiser did an excellent job of discussing the book of Leviticus chapter by chapter. He looked at what the text actually says and gave serious and insight explanations. He also brought in historical information from the surrounding cultures of that time which added greatly to the discussions concerning the question "why". It is well-written, easy to understand, and very interesting!
This is an insightful paper on Leviticus. It makes clear what is really being said and how it applies to New Testament believers. It takes what I thought was a boring and hard to understand book and made it interesting and applicable.
